State Bank of India has launched its upgraded digital banking platform, YONO 2.0, with a commercial rollout beginning on December 15, 2025. The new version is designed to deliver a smooth and unified banking experience across digital and physical channels. Available on both Android and iOS devices, YONO 2.0 focuses on stronger security, easier access, better performance, and more personalized services. While the platform is live, all features will be gradually released over the next six to eight months through a phased rollout.
Unified Omnichannel Banking Experience
YONO 2.0 brings together mobile banking, internet banking, and branch services into a single, integrated system. Customers can move easily between online and offline banking without disruption, creating a truly connected experience. This unified approach allows users to start a transaction digitally and complete it at a branch, or vice versa, without repeating steps. The goal is to make banking simpler, faster, and more consistent across all touchpoints.
Easier Access and Enhanced Security
One of the major improvements in YONO 2.0 is direct app access for new users. Unlike the earlier version, customers no longer need to register for internet banking before using the app. Security has also been strengthened with multiple login options. Users can log in using MPIN, biometric authentication on Android devices, or Face ID on iOS devices. These options provide both convenience and strong protection, ensuring safer access to banking services.
Personalization, Language Support, and Targeted Services
The upgraded platform uses advanced marketing tools to offer personalized and highly tailored services based on individual customer needs. This allows users to see relevant products, offers, and services more easily. To improve accessibility, YONO 2.0 supports 15 Indian languages, helping customers from different regions use the app comfortably. In addition, SBI is developing specialized products and services for farmers and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, addressing the unique needs of these important customer groups.
Performance, Scalability, and Platform Compatibility
YONO 2.0 is built on a strong backend system capable of supporting up to 20 crore mobile banking users, which is double the current user base. This ensures long-term scalability and reliability. Customers can expect faster app performance, simpler navigation, and fewer disruptions. The app supports Android version 12 and above, and iOS version 15.0 or later. Existing users will be automatically migrated to the new platform as the rollout continues, ensuring a smooth transition without user effort.
